2025 Recap
Wow. I started the year in Spain and Morocco, ended my backpacking journey in the Netherlands, visited with friends and family, moved to the Netherlands, and ended the year in my new home. I started the year as Version… let’s just say… 6, and ended it as Version… probably 10, to be honest. I started the year running out of money, I ended the year making money, and with plans to make even more. I started the year still unclear on my future’s direction, I ended the year aligned and clear. There are so many ways I could summarize 2025. Let’s just get into it, shall we?

1. Celebrations
Something I’ve historically been horrible at but intend on changing moving forward is celebrating my victories. It doesn’t have to be an ego thing, I’ve realized. It’s about feedback loops. It’s about reinforcing the good and reframing the not-so-good. I will intentionally choose to celebrate myself starting now.
From NYE goals I made for 2025, I accomplished the following: I got more marketing experience, I found my next career, I practiced yoga consistently (even if just for periods of the year), I practiced meditation daily (for a large portion of the year), and I got extremely close to my body composition goals for overall physical health. You can see (with the parentheses) that I didn’t meet the goals perfectly… but that’s okay. I genuinely believe that. I did my best. And I showed up more than not. That’s a f*cking win.
Otherwise, I’ll go through the year in chronological order to point out key moments I’m proud of and want to celebrate. I closed a big chapter of solo backpacking for near 11 months, I reconnected with old friends from mypast that still have a place in my future, I prioritized my health and took control over what I can do, I went scuba diving again without pain, I was accepted into and started a Masters Program in the Netherlands, I moved to the Netherlands alone (but with the help of my parents), I expanded my circle/community to include those I might not have before with open eyes and open heart, I worked with my friend Gwen to gain confidence and got extremely clear about my values, I joined my friend Puck’s “Freedom Tribe,” I started to work with my friend Selma on making my dreams/goals a reality in the most authentic way possible, I released any ideas/assumptions/desires I have about needing a partner/being in a relationship, and I continue to make new connections in my new home.
2. Intentions
One of the huge lessons I’ve started learning this year is about the absolute power of our minds and our thoughts. The words we tell ourselves - they shape our reality. So moving forward, I intend to be gentle with myself. More kind, more forgiving, more soft. Understanding that I am human - which means I’m complex, but also not without fault. That I can be simultaneously strong and chaotic (one of the reasons behind my trident tattoo). I intend to meet myself where I am in the moment. I intend to be fully present. I intend to be. Not focus on becoming or doing, but just being. I intend to meet my true self in the stillness. I intend to love myself wholly.
3. Random Statistics
Just because I secretly love statistics:
12 countries (13 if we include Bonaire)
31 flights
48 books (only 6 were audiobooks)
78 academic papers for school
2 new tattoos
25 dates
0 boyfriends
11kg dropped, body composition drastically different
4. Manifestations
Now, I can’t just let you in on all of my 2026 goals… But here are some that I can share with you now. I will meditate daily for grounding, draw one picture a day for creativity, invert into head/handstands weekly to increase bloodflow to the big ‘ole brain, meet multiple fitness goals for longevity, graduate with my Masters degree, read 52 books for more knowledge, continue traveling (because duh) for brain/heart health, and help a number of people in a way that alters the course of their lives.
The thing about manifesting is that it only works if you believe those things are already yours. So, really, I should’ve written, “I have meditated daily, I drew one picture every day, I met all my fitness goals, etc.” I recently heard a line from a song that essentially said, “Desire is just a memory from the future coming through.” I love that. I have the burning desire to [fill in the blank] because I have a memory from the future saying it’s already mine. That’s the mindset for 2026. It’s already mine, baby. Let’s go.
