July 2025
July- the mark of the second half of the year. Kind of crazy that half of 2025 is already done. I feel pretty good about everything I’ve done so far. But July was full of its own adventures; lots of new friends, new experiences in old places, and the beginning of a big life change. Sometimes I thought, “WTF, July?” So let’s get into it.
Table of Contents
1. Wins
Big / Small Victories: Meeting lots of new friends, being open to different types of experiences, making some important appointments for next month, and traveling to a new country.
Moments of Joy: Spending time with my Half Pint, Tilde, for a large part of the month, a BBQ she hosted in my honor with lots of her friends, setting my feet in some park in a public park in Oslo, and really good conversations with a new friend.
Number of Books Read: 4 read
Favorite Quote: “[England is] the stabiest stab nation” - A friend at a BBQ
Favorite Location: A little park behind Tilde’s house, because I had cute moments with people there
Favorite Meal: Mexican-themed BBQ with margaritas because I made lots of new friends in London that night!
Favorite Memory: Having my backpacking backpack on my back again… it just gives me so much joy
2. Takeaways
This month, I learned that if you’re just open to new experiences, some amazing things might come your way. We have to stop putting ourselves in these little boxes of expectations. Usually, it’s the unexpected moments that can bring the most joy and surprise in our lives.
3. Failures
Expectation: I can stay on my meal plan and exercise routine while visiting a friend for a month, totally.
Reality: I can do it for a week, but then lose the discipline.
I’m learning that it’s okay to adapt to your surroundings for moments of time. Of course, it’s good to have a routine and continue with discipline, but you don’t have to beat yourself up when you lose track for a little bit. Socializing with friends is also important.
4. Was That Fun?
Another 31 days/744 hours/44.640 minutes of 2025… did you fun? I definitely did. A crazy month with friends, new and old. Experiences I didn’t expect to experience in my lifetime. And a little bit of work. Ready for August. Let’s see what you’ve got.
